Executive Director and Founder Steve Park is available to speak at your next event. He speaks passionately about God’s compassion for the poor and marginalized, especially for children in under-resourced urban communities. After a radical conversion to Christianity from atheism after a difficult experience taking drugs, Steve has committed his life to serving God and sharing a holistic gospel in the heart of the city.
His heart is for the Body of Christ to be united through racial and class reconciliation, concern for the vulnerable and weak, and radical compassion and service. As a 1.5 generation Korean-American, Steve relocated to a historic African-American community in D.C., Anacostia, and raises his family there. Little Lights serves children and families in public housing in SE, DC.
Steve has spoken at numerous churches, college campuses, conferences, and retreats, and is a contributing author with his wife Mary in Faith Forward, a book for progressive youth ministers. He also serves on the board of CCDA (Christian Community Development Association), a national umbrella organization founded by John Perkins, the Center for Non-Profit Advancement in DC, and the House DC.
