Earlier this month 22 employees from Ernst & Young (EY) teamed up with Little Lights to spend a day solely focused on serving our community. Their commitment to serve was part of the consulting company’s annual nationwide volunteer day of service, better known as EY Connect.
The EY Connect volunteers were broken up into 3 groups to tackle painting and cleaning two of Little Lights’ program sites on Capitol Hill – a task that took the entire day to complete. Only taking a break to eat lunch, the EY Connect volunteers spent 8 hours painting and retouching the walls. They even provided breakfast and lunch to the Little Lights staff working alongside them.
Little Lights staff members were inspired by the EY Connect group’s eagerness to serve and help wherever needed. “They went the extra mile to do a good job and made sure it looked perfect,” said Linda Rice, Associate Director.
Thanks so much EY for sending Little Lights a phenomenal group of volunteers!
