Group Opportunities
Little Lights has several opportunities for groups to get involved with our ministry, from taking kids on field trips to helping with administrative work. Specific opportunities include:
Urban DiP
Manage a “drop-in” Saturday program for kids at our Potomac Gardens Units, 1212 I Street, SE on a Saturday from 10am-2pm! This is a great opportunity for small groups and a great way to build relationships with our amazing students! Submit a Group Service Request Form to Mijin at mijin@littlelights.org, fax: 202-544-7508. Your group will be responsible for 40 bag lunches and an activity.
Annual Events
Every year we host/participate in a number of annual events: Potomac Gardens Community Day/Talent Show (Summer), a fund-raising Banquet (Fall), and our annual Little Lights Christmas Party (Winter), to name a few. We are always looking for volunteers to help with planning, executing, and sponsoring in-kind donations (food, paper goods, auction items, Christmas gifts, etc.) to make these events spectacular. Urban Plunge
Are you part of a college fellowship looking to have a meaningful Spring Break? Come spend your Spring Break week with us to observe, learn, and engage with all aspects of our ministry. Group Activity fee applies. Lodging is available at an additional cost. Submit a Group Service Request Form to Mijin at mijin@littlelights.org( fax: 202-544-7508 ATTN: Mijin Paik) and she will respond to your request. Check out Visiting Group Info. Groups coming for one whole week are preferred.
Summer Volunteering
We have a limited number of volunteer opportunities in the summer for visiting groups wanting to experience Urban Ministry first hand. Submit a Group Service Request Form to Mijin at mijin@littlelights.org fax: 202-544-7508.
