We really need tutors for MATH/READING HEROES.

  • Hang up this flyer at your office, church, dorm, etc.
  • Talk to your friends, family, co-workers about Little Lights!
  • Make an announcement at your church or student group!
  • Have our Volunteer Coordinator, Mijin Paik, come speak with your group!
eBay Expert?

We want you!

  • Help us sell, pack, and ship items through our Little Lights' eBay store. (We raise funds for the organization by selling old equipment, extra books, and other items.)
A/V savvy?

  • Help with technical difficulties.
  • Run the sound system during special events like our Christmas Party, Talent Show, and others.
Got Culture?

  • Teach our kids about YOUR world culture (be it rural Alabama, or Istanbul!). Contact Michelle at michelle@littlelights.org for more information about this opportunity.
In-Kind Services

Little Lights can use the expertise of volunteers who are willing to help with short-term projects, annual events, program development, or administration. Some things we can usually use help with are:

  • Fundraising Events/Drives — Throughout the year, we could use help with grant writing, mail campaigns, and other fundraising drives. Contact Josie at josie@littlelights.org or 202. 548. 4021.
  • Mailings — Stamping, stuffing, addressing, etc.
  • Administrative — Data-entry, card/flyer cutting, and booklet binding/putting together staff notebooks and binders.
  • Organizing our mountains of files, folders, supplies, etc.
  • Networking Computers/IT
  • Planning Events – Assist in planning Little Lights’ annual Christmas Party, Talent Show, Christmas gift drive, volunteer appreciation dinner, or other events. Contact Josie at josie@littlelights.org
  • Event Space – Donate event space for Little Lights events.
  • Music – Help a student learn to play piano, guitar, drums, or another instrument. Contact Mijin Paik at mijin@littlelights.org or 202. 548. 4021.
  • Accounting

Party with a Purpose

Host an event, formal or informal, to spread the word about Little Lights—and hopefully raise some money in the process. You invite your friends; we provide brochures and other informational material, and can even help plan the party. Ideas for events include dinner, barbecue, or brunch.
