April Volunteer GEM Highlight

I honestly felt nervous and excited the entire week; especially whenever it was time for the children to come. But if I had to pick a specific moment, for me it was when a child would open up after a session of tutoring or playing, just bombarding me with questions about my life and being so excited to tell me their own stories. Some of the kids would run into whichever station I was in and scream my name, just cling on my arm and ask me to either tutor or play with them. It was so encouraging to see them so accepting and seeking attention and to know that in some ways I can brighten up their day.
