This week the parents of Potomac Gardens and Hopkins took part in Little Lights’ fifth annual Christmas Store.

Once parents arrived at the Christmas Store, held at our Family Center, they were able to select a gift for their child from over 200 toys donated by our generous supporters. As they waited for the presents to be wrapped, parents enjoyed coffee and hot chocolate and a delicious homemade cake from our Associate Director, Ms. Linda.

Staff checked in with parents on the status of their students and parents were able to provide ample feedback on their experience with Little Lights’ programs. Many parents expressed how thankful they are for Little Lights’ stable presence and support for their kids through Homework Club, our Christian mentoring program, and special events like the Christmas Store.

Whether you purchased a gift through our Amazon wishlist, made a donation, or hosted a gift drive, you and many other generous donors made it possible for 72 parents to put a gift under the tree for 196 children this Christmas morning.

Special thanks to the Council for Advancement and Support of Education – Multicultural Advancement Professionals Network and Association of Fundraising Professionals – African Affinity Group for donating 30 gifts to the Christmas Store!
