In 24 hours Little Lights raised more than $92,000 and won an additional $16,000 in prizes – totaling $108,648 during United Way of the National Capital Region’s giving competition, Do More 24.
Over 600 nonprofits participated in the annual giving competition that kicked off on May 22nd at 12pm and ended on May 23rd at 12pm. More than 250 donors came together to help Little Lights bring home the $10,000 grand prize for the 5th year in a row.
Little Lights’ big Do More 24 win will continue providing year-round, educational enrichment and family resource programs for residents of public housing at our six locations throughout Capitol Hill and Anacostia, including Little Lights’ newest site, the Hilltop Center, focusing on service to Benning Terrace public housing residents.
A big thanks to all those who helped Little Lights knock it out of the park during this year’s Do More 24 competition!
