Last Saturday, the Kid’s Christmas Store was in full effect! One Kind Act teamed up with Little Lights to host  a Christmas Store during our usual Saturday Program. The Hopkins Center was filled with presents, wrapping paper, ribbons and, of course, kids beaming with excitement as they got to pick out a gift for their parents!

Longtime friends of Little Lights and One Kind Act founders Kay Kim and Kim Blough hosted the Kids Christmas Store for the fourth year in a row. The mom and child led organization donated more than 100 gifts that our parents from Potomac Gardens and Hopkins are guaranteed to love – from cookware and dishes, to plush throws and handbags, and so much more.

After students selected a present, One Kind Act organized a gift wrapping station where our students could wrap their gifts and make Christmas cards for their parents.

Every child in our programs will be able to honor their parents by presenting them with a gift this Christmas. In this way our families and students can experience the joy of both giving and receiving.

We are incredibly grateful to One Kind Act, for donating gifts and giving of their time to ensure the Christmas spirit reaches families at Potomac Gardens and Hopkins public housing.
