This past Saturday, June 22nd, nearly 90 volunteers from Passion City Church DC came together to volunteer at Little Lights as part of their citywide service day, LOVE DC.

Modeled after the LOVE ATLANTA, an annual service day held at Passion City Church in Atlanta, the day-long service opportunity in DC included about 350 volunteers from Passion City Church DC where they served at 18 different non-profit organizations, one of which was Little Lights.

During LOVE DC, volunteers deep cleaned all five of our sites on Capitol Hill in preparation for Summer Lights, our 5-week day camp, starting on Monday, July 1st. Members of the Clean Green Team, our landscaping social enterprise, led 20 of the volunteers through pulling weeds in the community garden, the play grounds, and the common walking areas inside Potomac Gardens and Hopkins public housing apartments.

We are so grateful for Passion City Church DC, who we named our “New Partner of the Year” at our Volunteer Appreciation Party a few weeks ago. Thanks for standing alongside us as we serve and love on our community together, Passion City!
