Compassionately caring for our neighbors remains Little Lights’ top priority as we face this coronavirus crisis. As a result of the pandemic, our programs have shifted to focus on providing emergency supplies and support to students and their families. The food and supply distribution has become the most critical and needed part of our programming. 

Since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis, Little Lights has distributed:

  • 223 snack bags 
  • 110 academic packets
  • 1,173 meals
  • 2,100 diapers

This work cannot be done alone. We are deeply indebted to the many churches, donors, and individual volunteers who pitched in to donate supplies, whether through our Amazon Wish List or by shopping and coordinating a donation drop-off to our main office. On behalf of the students and families at Little Lights, we say thank you!

If you want to donate we’ve got good news: it’s not too late! Little Lights is continually looking for donations of non-perishable food, cleaning supplies and toiletries to provide to families. There are two ways you can donate: 

1) Visit our Amazon Wish List (…) or 

2) Pick up one or more of the following items listed below at a local store and contact Mary Park at to schedule a time to drop items off. All items can be sent to our main center (760 7th Street, SE, Washington, DC 20003).

  1. Soap (bar or liquid),
  2. Masks or handmade masks
  3. Hand sanitizer,
  4. Lysol and other disinfecting sprays/wipes,
  5. Lotion,
  6. Gloves,
  7. Toilet paper or flushable wipes,
  8. Paper towels,
  9. and non-perishable food.
